EU Engineering Students Bask in SWEP Experience

In fulfillment of Elizade University’s promise that practicals would be taken seriously, year two students of Engineering have begun the six weeks mandatory Student Work Experience Programme (SWEP).

The programme, which is aimed at promoting the technical skills among engineering students started on Monday, July 20, 2015 and ended on Friday, August 28, 2015.

Since the beginning of the programme, students have been exposed to wood/carpentry work, metal work and construction work. About a thousand of hydraform bricks have been made, using Hydraform machine.

The Chief Technologist, Faculty of Engineering, Engr. Stephen Olanrewaju expressed satisfaction with the attitude of the students toward the programme. He said that the students have shown with their enthusiasm that they were ready for career in Engineering.

Engr. Olanrewaju noted that Engineering, being a signature programme for Elizade University, has been equipped with sufficient modern equipment that would give students equal experience with their counterparts in the developed countries of the world.

He warned that engineering programme in Elizade University was not meant for lazy students, expressing that degrees in engineering do not come on platter of gold. The Chief Technologist enjoined them to show endurance, commitment and creativity in their pursuit of career in engineering.
