Elizade Varsity Students Urged to Represent Institution Well During Internship

Students of Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State have been urged to make the most use of the Internship Programme of the Institution as the programme was introduced to give them work-based experience.

The Founder of the University, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo gave the advice while addressing the students during a session organized by the University to give the students Internship placement letters and log books as they prepare to proceed on a six- week internship in organizations relevant to their discipline.

Chief Ade-Ojo stated that the University, in its quest to produce globally employable graduates, has decided to familiarize the students with work environment where they could be exposed to the practical aspects of their training.

He implored the students to be good ambassadors of the University wherever they are posted. The Founder reminded them that their names could be penciled down for future employment if they perform to the satisfaction of their employers.

The Founder commended the pioneer students for representing the University very well during the maiden edition of the Internship programme. He maintained that their display of moral excellence during the programme paved way for their successful placement for this year’s edition. Chief Ade-Ojo charged the 100 level students to take a cue from the first set of students that participated in the programme. He assured the students of his continued support.

Also speaking, the Registrar of the University, Mr. Omololu Adegbenro enjoined the students to take the six-week Internship programme very seriously. He reminded that the Power Point presentation that they would make on the Programme on resumption would carry a lot of marks.

While speaking on the topic, “How to have a Successful Internship”, Mr. Adegbenro advised the students to relate well with employees in their Internship place. He encouraged them to ask questions on anything that looks difficult to them, warning them against gamble on whatever is not clear to them.

It is in the policy of the University to send out its students on Internship during every long vacation. The students use half of the vacation to gain practical experience in their chosen disciplines before spending the rest of the break with their parents.
