Elizade University Students Embrace Agriculture Innovation

Elizade University Engineering students attended the Agrofood Exhibition at the 2nd Trade Show on Agriculture and Food Seminar at Land Mark Event Centre, Lekki, Lagos.  All 60 students from our various Engineering courses including: Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical and Electronics, Computer, Civil and Information & Communication Technology, were overjoyed for the opportunity to explore Engineering in Agriculture.  The students were accompanied by Elizade’s Farm Officer, Mr. Adewumi Adejuwon who stated that “the program was a 3-day seminar in which the students were exposed to a wealth of information during their one day visit.  Students were privileged to speak with international agricultural professionals in the course of the event and were urged for consistencies and commitment in their academic endeavors by some of the facilitators.”

The Agrofood Exhibition captivated EU Students to understand the many objectives of the exhibition including:

  • The awareness of the nation’s needs and the role of Engineering in facilitating agriculture.
  • The connection with innovation and current state-of-the-art engineering in food processing.
  • The linkage with global players in their chosen disciplines of Engineering in accordance with the mission of the University.

During the exhibition, students experienced live technological and machine operations on bakery, food processing, beverages packaging, plastics and composites, printing, packaging solutions and materials which enabled them to better understand and appreciate the practical and hands-on experiences of what they learn in the classroom.

Great Elizade Students!
