Climate & Hydrology Scientist
Dr. Akinwale T. Ogunrinde is a climate and hydrology scientist and Associate Researcher at the Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lanzhou, China.
A prolific author, he has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals — including npj Clean Energy, Communications Earth & Environment, Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Geoscience Frontiers, and Weather and Climate Extremes — advancing knowledge on drought dynamics, climate change impacts, and renewable-energy resilience across Africa and Asia.
His research excellence has attracted competitive funding and recognition, notably the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Talent Introduction Plan grant (¥1 million, 2024) and the Sivapalan Young Scientists Travel Award (SYSTA, 2022), Italy. Earlier, his academic promise earned him the Total/ELF and Ondo State undergraduate scholarships.
He holds a PhD in Soil and Water Engineering and is an active member of the AGU, EGU, IAHS, NIAE, and COREN.
