Senior Environmental and Social Safeguards Specialist
Funmi is a Senior Environmental and Social Safeguards Specialist with over 30 years of experience in environmental governance, climate resilience, and multi-stakeholder engagement across Africa.
She is currently a Senior Research Associate at the Climate Centre of Elizade University, Program Coordinator at the African Green Growth and Development Forum (AGDF), and Senior Consultant at Adonai Climate Resilience and Environmental Solutions (ACRES).
Her portfolio spans donor-funded programmes with AfDB, AGRA, Oxfam, CTA, and IDRC, including technical leadership of an 11-country stakeholder mapping exercise for AGRA's Agricultural Resilience Strategy.
She holds a World Bank ESRM certification, ISO 14001 and 22000 Lead Auditor credentials, a LEAD International Fellowship in Leadership for Sustainable Development, and training in multistakeholder facilitation (Netherlands), Disaster Risk Management, and Research for Impact (CLARE CS Hub, 2026). On ARIA, she will lead engagement with NMEP, NCDC, and community stakeholders across Nigeria's ecological zones.
