Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment (CISI), United Kingdom to ensure professional qualification of students in Accounting and Finance and other interested students in related disciplines. Consequently, the University has been profiled as an examination centre for the Institute. This is in the institution’s efforts at ensuring that its graduates impart not only the national finance sector but also the global financial market positively.


Speaking during the signing of the MoU, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Olukayode Amund stated that the certificate awarded by Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment would enable qualified graduates of the University to work in global financial institutions such as Standard Chartered Bank and HSBC, among others. He added that they would also have the opportunity of practicing stockbroking and other finance related services through the Institute’s MOU with Nigeria Stock Exchange and Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. 


While affirming that CISI certification was recognized by 56 Stock Exchanges and 118 countries of the world, Prof. Amund reiterated the University’s commitment to ensure that students achieve professional qualification in their respective disciplines.


Also speaking, the Senior International Manager of the Institute, Mr. Praneet Shivaprasad commended the University for its efforts at making its graduates globally competitive. He stated that the MoU would give the University access to the Institute’s online education resources and other materials that would assist it in teaching and research in investment and securities.
