Staff and faculty of Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State have been urged to imbibe the culture of giving back to the system as a way of contributing to the development of the institution and supporting the efforts of the Founder.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Olukayode Amund gave the charge while donating books to the Law Library of the University.
He described the establishment of Elizade University as a product of the culture of giving back to the society, stating that the Founder paid back to the society that made him through his establishment of the University.
He said that members of staff should think of what to contribute to the University instead of always thinking of what to gain from it.
Prof. Amund enjoined members of staff to also inculcate the spirit of ownership of the University so as to assist in the attainment of the vision of the Founder.
He expressed that the University would relief the Founder of some financial burdens if the culture of giving back to the system was enthroned in the institution.
In his response, the representative of the University Librarian, Mr. Idowu Adegbilero-Iwari thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the gesture. While noting that the books would be of immense benefit to both staff and students, Mr. Adegbilero-Iwari called on other members of staff to take a cue from the Vice-Chancellor.
