About Elizade University
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Elizade University, a citadel of learning that seeks to be globally competitive, producing entrepreneurial, innovative and ethical graduates. The University is driven by a strategic developmental agenda which is embedded in the Vision of the Founder, Chief Michael Ade.Ojo. These include engagement of high quality faculty members to complement goal driven students, leveraging on the infrastructural endowment of the University for excellence. Driven by innovativeness and creativity, we zealously pursue our academic delivery and research aiming to attain world-class status and primal position in Nigeria through the deployment of modern technological tools in teaching, research administration and entrepreneurial empowerment through robust skill acquisition programmes. This carefully drafted developmental agenda has continued to drive the University towards the attainment of its Vision and mission, as evident in the various feats recorded by the University in its’ short life span.
The University, which took off in January, 2013 with 64 students in 13 programmes across two Faculties, has experienced all-round geometric increase. At its’ mid-term review, the institution had a total of twenty-five (25) fully accredited programmes in the Faculties of Basic and Applied Sciences, Engineering, Humanities, Social and Management Sciences and Law, with about 1,500 students in the 2020/2021 Academic Session. The University had since added a fifth Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and mounted seven (7) additional undergraduate programmes. They are Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Political Science, Sociology, Architecture, Quantity Surveying and Estate Management, while the National Universities Commission (NUC) has given the University approval to run 15 Postgraduate programmes at M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. levels.
As part of its efforts at achieving its goals, Elizade University has been consistent with its engagement of seasoned academics and professionals, who have continued to impart relevant knowledge in the students, using modern teaching and learning facilities provided by the University. The University has recorded exemplary student and faculty achievements in terms of attracting grants and winning laudable laurels.
The adoption of the iLearn platform by the University and the development of lecture notes by lecturers and the uploading of same on the University’s website have simplified teaching and learning in the University. With this platform, students are afforded the opportunity of reading ahead of their classes. This is a global best practice that has encouraged self-directed learning among our students.
Elizade University has also signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with some selected top Universities across the world. Prominent among these is the ORT Braude College of Engineering, Israel, where we send our students for a 3- month intensive practical training in selected programmes. The University has a growing list of partnerships with relevant professional bodies for the enhancement of knowledge.
