| About | Dr Fausat Kikelomo Ola-Mudathir obtained a B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry in 1989, M.Sc. degree in Chemical Pathology in 1994, and Biochemistry in 2006 at the University of Ibadan. She also had a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 2015. She is a Senior lecturer at Elizade University, IlaraMokin, Ondo state, Nigeria. Her areas of research interest are Nutritional Biochemistry, Phytomedicine and Toxicology. She has carried out researches on the health benefits and antioxidant properties of functional foods and herbs. The nutritive values of some foods have also been studied. She has also studied the toxicity of many plants and drugs by the determination of their extent of toxicity and their effects on some important enzymes, thus suggesting limitations to their use. Her major research focused on the antidote effect of onion during cyanide toxicity. This area of her research has revealed the tremendous benefit of onion in preventing cyanide toxicity that may result from chronic consumption of foods that contain cyanide. Her current research seeks to determine the toxic level of a modified anti-tuberculous drug. |
