ELIZADE UNIVERSITY ELEVATES FOUR DISTINGUISHED SCHOLARS TO PROFESSORIAL RANK

In a bold affirmation of its commitment to academic excellence and global competitiveness, Elizade University has announced the promotion of four eminent members of its academic community, three of whom have been elevated to the rank of Professor, and one to the rank of Reader (Associate Professor).
“The promotions, approved after rigorous evaluation by internal and external assessors, mark a significant milestone in the University's pursuit of scholarly distinction, innovation, and institutional development.” A statement by the University’s Registrar, Omololu Adegbenro, said.
Promoted to the prestigious rank of Professor are Dr. Omotola Dada, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences; Dr. Wole Adamolekun, Head of the Department of Mass Communication and Director of Academic Planning; and Dr. Lateef B. Salaam, a seasoned academic in the Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences. Dr. Titilayo Akinwumi of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science was also elevated to the rank of Reader (Associate Professor).
Prof. Omotola Dada is a renowned environmental scientist with expertise in ecology and environmental biotechnology. A graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, she has published extensively in the areas of environmental remediation, biodegradation of plastics, and sustainability science. Her recent collaborative research on aquatic plastic biodegradation has earned international recognition. She currently serves as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, where she has played a key role in programme development and research advancement.
Prof. Wole Adamolekun brings a wealth of professional and academic experience to the University. A seasoned communication strategist with over four decades of experience across the oil, micro-credit, and development sectors, he has authored several books and over 40 academic articles in the fields of strategic communication, public relations, and development media. As Head of the Department of Mass Communication and Director of Academic Planning, he has contributed significantly to curriculum development and institutional strategy.
Prof. Lateef B. Salaam is a microbiologist and molecular ecologist whose research focuses on microbial metagenomics, environmental health, and pollution control. His work on the bioremediation of polluted ecosystems and the role of microbial communities in environmental recovery has attracted both local and international interest. He is widely published in leading scientific journals and is a mentor to many young researchers within and outside the University.
Dr. Titilayo Akinwumi, now promoted to Reader (Associate Professor), is an accomplished mathematician whose work spans stochastic processes, mathematical modeling, and quantum differential equations. A graduate of Ekiti State University and the University of Ibadan, she has contributed meaningfully to the advancement of mathematical theories and their practical applications. Her academic publications are well-cited in scholarly circles, and she continues to inspire students in the fields of mathematics and computer science.
Commenting on the development, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Elizade University, Professor Sunday Babatunde Adeyemo, congratulated the newly promoted academics, noting that the elevations are a recognition of consistent dedication to teaching, research, and service to the University.
“These promotions are well deserved and reflect the high standards Elizade University has set for academic excellence,” Professor Adeyemo said. “The University is proud of these scholars and their continued commitment to advancing knowledge, mentoring students, and promoting the University’s mission.”
He added that the University's progress in research, innovation, and academic quality continues to gain attention nationally and internationally, in part due to the strength and vision of its academic leadership.
